چکیده
End-expiration, 21-second breath-hold, three-dimensional magnetic resonance (MR) cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) was developed with segmented echo-planar imaging. In 15 healthy subjects and 14 randomly selected patients undergoing liver studies, three-dimensional MRCP images were obtained and volume rendered. In 15 (100%) healthy subjects and 13 (93%) patients, clear depiction of biliary, hepatic, and pancreatic ducts (with lumen diameter of at least 2 mm) was possible with good signal-to-noise ratio.

Two-dimensional multishot echo-planar coronary MR angiography.
This work presents a two-dimensional (2D) multishot echo-planar imaging (EPI) technique for magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) of individual coronary arteries in a 17-heartbeat breath-hold. Conventional 2D and 3D segmented gradient-echo (GRE) coronary MRA requires repetitive excitation of the same slice or slab within each cardiac cycle, which can result in reduced blood signal and in motion ...
متن کاملDetection of focal hepatic lesions with MR imaging: prospective comparison of T2-weighted fast spin-echo with and without fat suppression, T2-weighted breath-hold fast spin-echo, and gadolinium chelate-enhanced 3D gradient-recalled imaging.
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to compare breath-hold three-dimensional (3D) rapid gradient-echo (GRE) MR imaging obtained before and after gadolinium chelate injection with T2-weighted fast spin-echo and T2-weighted breath-hold fast spin-echo (BHFSE) MR imaging in the detection of focal hepatic masses. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Fifty-three patients with 108 focal hepatic masses had, pros...
متن کاملMulti-echo segmented k-space imaging: an optimized hybrid sequence for ultrafast cardiac imaging.
Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging requires high temporal resolution to resolve motion and contrast uptake with low total scan times to avoid breathing artifacts. While spoiled gradient echo (SPGR) imaging is robust and reproducible, it is relatively inefficient and requires long breath-holds to acquire high time resolution movies of the heart. Echo planar imaging (EPI) is highly efficient with...
متن کاملA Comparison of Cardiac-synchronized and Unsynchronized Gadolinium-enhanced Three-dimensional Magnetic Resonance Angiography of the Thoracic Aorta
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare multi-slab cardiac-synchronized breath-hold Gd-enhanced threedimensional MR angiography (1) with unsynchronized breath-hold three-dimensional MR angiography(Z-4) in patients for the evaluation of thoracic aortic disease. We hypothesized that the use of cardiac-synchronization should minimally provide the same diagnostic information and additiona...
متن کاملMR Urography in Patients with Acute Flank Pain: Comparison of Gadolinium-Enhanced 3D FLASH After Low-Dose Diuretic with 2D Turbo Spin Echo Sequences
Introduction: Intravenous excretory urography (IVU) has been regarded as the imaging modality of choice for the detection of urinary tract disorders in patients with acute flank pain. Functional as well as anatomical details are provided by this imaging technique. The use of ionised radiation and contrast material (CM) are considered to be the major drawbacks of IVU. Recently, the use of magnet...
